Ending of Day 2 Digital Story

My partner and I have decided to meet on Monday to work on the story. We kind of learned how to use iMovie. The only thing that we have trouble with is dragging youtube clips onto iMovie. We might just have to record to youtube videos on a camera just to make it easier. I'm confident about our story because we have an outline of how it is going to be and we have a lot of ideas to work with.

Day 2 Digital Story

Last week, my partner and I got a better idea of how we want to set up our digital story. We haven't done much since. Today, I'd like to start setting up our story on iMovie.

End of Day 1 of Digital Story Lesson

It was frustrating to figure out how we were going to start the Digital Story. We wanted to make it dramatic an intense. We are still going to start the story with clips of racism in the 1960s. As the clips are showing, depressing music will be playing in the background and we will be talking through out it. We will be asking dramatic questions to get the viewers thinking about how bad African AMericans were mistreated. We then decided to show Malcom X's way of fighting for civil rights, which will have intense music in the background. We will end the clip with Martin Luther King's Speech, which will hav a smoother/classical music in the background. The last part of the story will be pictures of racial diversity in schools and communities to show that things have changed and that these men made a huge difference. We want to show the viewers that these men died for a reason and that they made many things possible for African Americans all together.

Digital Story Day 1

I think that today we are going to learn how to create a digital story. My partner and I have been discusing how we wanted to put our digital story together. The digital story is going to be about the issues with slavery and racism. We were thinking  of starting the video off with clips of white americans mistreating african americans. Then we were going to show clips of Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X. We do want to include a lot of dialogue through out the video but are not sure exactly what we are going to say or where to put the dialogue yet.

Valentine's Day Bulletin Board

Tracey, Michele, and I had to create a bulletin board for Valentines Day. Tracey is a math major, Michele is an english major, and I'm a history major. We were able to combine all of our majors into one bulletin board. Michele put up famous english quotes on the left side and Tracey put up the math equation on the right hand side. When this equation is put into a graph, it makes a heart. Since I'm a history major, I put pictures of famous historic couples. On the left side, there are pictures of Martin Luther King Jr. and his wife Martha, Romeo and Juliet, and George Washington and his wife. On the right side, there is a picture of Prince Charles and Princess Diana and Cupid and his love Psyche. I made candy hearts that has the student's, who are in our education class, names inside and each had a different/famous candy heart description on the outside of it such as hug me, sweetie pie, or I <3 U.

My partner for the lesson plan is going to be Desi Washington. Our lesson is going to be about the struggles that African Americans faced such as Brown vs. Education.
